A One Day National Seminar on NEP 2020 Unveiled: A Transformative Journey of Opportunities and Challenges was organized by Kamala Devi Sohanraj Singhvi Jain College of Education & IQAC on 9th December, 2023. The session started with a Sanskrit sloka, inaugural song and dance performed beautifully by the students of the college followed with the lightning of the lamp. The seminar witnessed an assemblage of eminent speakers, distinguished guests and participants. Prof. (Dr) Soma Bandyopadhyay, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Prof. (Dr) Soma Bandyopadhyay highlighted the importance and challenges of NEP 2020 in the present education system. The eminent speakers Dr Anjali Bajpai, Head and Dean, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and Dr Kaushal Kishore, Professor, Department of Educational Studies, Faculty of Education Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi gave us a comprehensive idea and shared their valuable insights on NEP 2020. Dr Bijan Sarkar, Professor, Department of Education, Kalyani University was also one of the eminent speakers of the day and he shared with us the various dimensions of digital literacy as portrayed in NEP 2020. Dr Sujit Pal, Principal, Institute of Education for Women, Hastings House, Dr. Baishali Basu Roy Chowdhury, Associate Professor, Govt. Training College, Hooghly, Dr Mousumi Boral, Associate Professor, Satyapriya Roy College of Education and Dr Sairindhree Sen, Assistant Professor, GCM College of Education were some of the distinguished guests who chaired the technical session.. The welcome speech was delivered by the Principal of Kamala Devi Sohanraj Sighvi Jain College of Education, Dr Sadhana Jha. The introductory speech was given by our honourable President ofshree S.S Jain Sabha, shri Sardar Mull Kankaria who inspired each and everyone. His messagefor the young students, the flagbearers of the nation was to fix a goal in life and dreams cometrue but not without a hard work and dedication. The key note address was given by Shri Sohanraj Singhvi, Honourable President of Kamala Devi Sohanraj Singhvi Jain College of Education and he shared with us the overall structure and theme of the seminar. The session was well- coordinated by joint conveners, Assistant Professor Dr. Trisha Banerjee and Assistant Professor Ms Amrita Datta. The vote of thanks was given by Assistant Professor Ms Sudeshna Mukherjee.
