  • Bhasa Divas 2023

On the1st of March 2023, the B. Ed 1st Semester students of KSS Jain College organised an event commemorating the International Mother Language Day, a day etched in our hearts as a tribute to all our martyred brothers for their land and mother tongue- ‘Bongo Desh’ and ‘Bangla Bhasha’.

With our beloved Principal ma’am’s inaugural speech and poem, our program began.

We, the students of the Language Club, chose to take our spectators along the boulevards of West Bengal for a visual treat accompanied by tasty delicacies of the Bengali cuisine.
We tried to uphold the culture and traditions of West Bengal through a beautiful handmade brochure, demonstrated to the audience with the aid of elocution on the occasion and history of International Mother Language Day, recitation, dance and songs endorsing our mother tongue- ‘Bangla’. Through our initiative, we tried to put forward the famous landmarks such as Victoria Memorial, distinctive transports, for instance- Hand-Pulled Rickshaws and Yellow Taxi, world famous festivals such as Durga Pujo and Nobel winning personalities like Rabindranath Tagore and Satyajit Ray of our mother land.
We concluded our program by serving authentic Bengali delicacies – ‘Luchi’, ‘Kosha Aloo r Dum’, ‘Sandesh’ and ‘ Mishti Doi’, served on plates made of ‘Kola Pata’ (Banana Leaf) to our beloved guests- our fellow batchmates and our respected professors.
