On the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June, the students of Kamala Devi Sohanraj Singhvi Jain College of Education organized a poster presentation and tree plantation drive to raise awareness about environmental conservation. The event was a joint initiative by the college’s Social Science Club and National Service Scheme (NSS) unit.
Poster Presentation:
The poster presentation was held in the college premises, where students displayed informative and creatively designed posters highlighting various environmental issues such as climate change, deforestation, air and water pollution, and the need for sustainable practices. The posters aimed to educate fellow students about the grave consequences of environmental degradation and the importance of preserving the planet’s natural resources.
The posters covered a wide range of themes, including the role of individuals in environmental protection, and the benefits of adopting a greener lifestyle. The students put in significant effort to research and present the information in an engaging and visually appealing manner, ensuring that the message was conveyed effectively.
Tree Plantation Drive:
Following the poster presentation, the Social Science Club and NSS unit organized a tree plantation drive within the college campus. Students enthusiastically participated in planting saplings, understanding the vital role trees play in maintaining ecological balance, providing oxygen, and mitigating the effects of climate change.
The college authorities facilitated the event by allocating a designated area for the plantation and providing the necessary medicinal plants. The students worked together, planting the saplings, and ensuring their proper care and maintenance.
The event not only contributed to greening the college campus but also instilled a sense of environmental responsibility among the students. They pledged to continue their efforts towards preserving the environment in their daily lives.
