Saraswati puja was held in Kamala Devi Sohanraj Singhvi Jain College of Education, on the occasion of Basant Panchami . The festival Basant Panchami shows the Indian culture and tradition. On the 14th of February, the puja started around at 11 AM in the morning. Students decorated the hall and college surroundings with paper crafts, rangoli & alpana. All the students, Professors and non-teaching staff came together to worship goddess Saraswati . While our Principal madam Dr. Sadhana Jha along with Prof. Basanta Mukherjee as the priest was doing the puja rituals, everyone present at the event stood up and started singing Saraswati Vandana. Students participated in the puja regardless of any religious beliefs. After completion of the puja rituals, a delicious lunch was organized by the college management in the canteen for all students, teaching and non-teaching staff.
The next day after the arati and dadhikarma , immersion of the idol was done in the nearby Cossipore Ghat.
