On 21st February 2024 the Language Club of Kamala Devi Sohanraj Singhvi Jain College of Education has celebrated the International Mother Language Day. The theme of International Mother Language Day 2024 is Multilingual Education as a pillar of Intergeneration learning.
To celebrate the occasion, the students paid a tribute to the rich tapestry of a Language through a musical soiree with regional songs based on Eastern, Northern , Western & South India.
The students also showcased Rabindra Nritya, Folk dances like Jhumur, Bhangra, Dandiya , Lavani & Classical dances like Kathak & Bharatnatyam and embraced the diversity of linguistic expressions.
The event was a celebration of language diversities where the Principal Dr Sadhana Jha gave a beautiful speech in Hindi and Maithili to enhance the essence of multilingualism. It was a call to action for the preservation of mother languages worldwide. It underscored the value of linguistic heritage in fostering understanding, tolerance and mutual respect among different communities. The vote of thanks was given by Assistant Professor Amrita Datta.
